30” W x 18” D x 31 1/2” H
The Petal Crest is a mid-20th-century rolling side table composed with lightness and restraint. Its form reflects a period interest in mobility and service, articulated through a scalloped perimeter that reads as a continuous architectural edge rather than applied decoration. Proportions favor vertical clarity and controlled movement, allowing the piece to register with presence while remaining visually light.
A single drawer is set into the apron and fitted with newly added brass hardware, selected to remain visually recessive. Below, a lower shelf framed by carved supports reinforces the table’s functional logic while repeating the scalloped language through the full elevation. Original casters allow the piece to move easily between rooms.
The surface has been unified with a custom blush lacquer to clarify the silhouette and sharpen the legibility of the contours. The top is crowned with Alexandrita quartzite, added by Acanthus Home, a natural stone selected for its rose-toned veining and restrained luminosity. Polished to reveal depth without excess gloss, the stone maintains material legibility rather than spectacle, while its gently rounded perimeter softens the geometry and stabilizes the table’s vertical stance.
The Petal Crest holds presence through proportion and line, an object shaped by service and disciplined design.
Available through private acquisition.
