The Blush Pavilion

$4,500.00

The Blush Pavilion is a petite French side table rooted in the late 19th-century tradition of salon furniture, where small-scale forms were designed for proximity, ritual, and daily use. Such tables occupied dressing rooms, reception corners, and private sitting areas, serving as functional surfaces within intimate interiors rather than ornamental display alone. Its compact proportions and vertical stance reflect a design language grounded in refinement, balance, and control.

The table stands on three slender cabriole legs, their curvature providing lift and rhythm without visual weight. A scalloped apron defines the lower edge of the case, introducing softness beneath the structured drawer fronts. Two integrated drawers provide discreet storage for correspondence, personal effects, or objects of daily ritual. Decorative mounts and petite brass pulls are original to the piece, functioning as points of punctuation rather than embellishment. The overall form is light, poised, and deliberate, allowing the piece to occupy space without assertion.

The surface has been unified with a custom blush lacquer to clarify the silhouette and bring the contours forward. The top is crowned with Alexandrita Quartzite, added by Acanthus Home, a natural stone selected for its rose-toned veining and restrained luminosity. Polished to reveal depth without excess gloss, the surface maintains material legibility rather than spectacle.

Structural fractures present in the wood were stabilized and repaired; their subtle visibility remains without compromising integrity or use. No alterations were made to the original structure or proportions of the base.

The Blush Pavilion functions as a side table, bedside table, or dressing-room companion, offering presence through scale, finish, and material continuity rather than ornament.

Available through private acquisition.
